What We Collect

When you use Lucid without signing in, your journal entries are stored locally in your browser. We do not collect or store any personal data for anonymous users.

When you sign in, we store:

  • Your email address and display name (from your authentication provider)
  • Your journal entries (the conversations you have with the companion)
  • A memory summary generated by AI from your conversations
  • Your language preference and timezone

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the Lucid service:

  • Journal entries are sent to our AI provider to generate companion responses
  • Memory summaries help the companion remember context across conversations
  • We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising
  • We do not train AI models on your journal entries

AI Processing

Your dream entries are processed by third-party AI models (currently xAI) to generate companion responses and memory summaries. These providers process your data according to their own privacy policies. We send only the content necessary to generate responses — your messages, memory summary, and recent entry context.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Neon. Authentication is handled by the mini-apps.ai platform. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand how people use Lucid. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across sites. All data is aggregated and anonymous.

Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Anonymous entries stored in your browser can be cleared by clearing your browser's local storage.

Cookies

Lucid uses minimal cookies: an authentication token (dreams_token) if you sign in, and a PWA detection flag (dreams_pwa). No tracking cookies are used.

Changes

We may update this policy. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of Lucid after changes constitutes acceptance.
